URBAN TREE
Education & Consulting
We educate the public on the benefits of trees
We support initiatives that increase the tree canopy and protect trees
Why Trees Matter
Trees Provide Shade
While we may take it for granted, shade is what gives us relief from heat and makes our lives more comfortable. This is particularily important for those that live in warm and humid climates.
Trees Help With Drainage
Trees absorb rain water and can help both homeowners and neighborhoods reduce unwanted flooding and standing water.
Trees Reduce Pollution
Trees help remove pollution from the air and provide us with cleaner air to breather. These pollutants are then stored in the trunks of trees.
Trees Provide a Habitat for Wildlife
A healthy eco system begins with a place where all life can exist. Tress provide homes and shelter for birds and other wildlife.
Trees Beautify Neighborhoods
Many trees are capable of producing flowers which adds to the beauty of our neighborhoods and homes.
Trees Increase Home Values
Well maintained trees and landscapes increase the value of homes and neighborhoods. Neighborhoods with a tree canopy are desirable and homebuyers are drawn to these homes.
Mission:
Our mission is to advocate for increasing the tree canopy coverage and to expand the tree protection district in Jefferson Parish, LA.
By working with community leaders we can create a community that is comfortable, beautiful and prosperous.
